I am fighting to save Ferris Bueller as the greatest movie protagonist in Clay Morgan’s 2nd Annual March Movie Madness Contest.
People have accused Ferris as being a slacker.
Ferris was before his time.
He started tackling his Bucket List before people knew what Bucket Lists were.
He was never lazy.
He was a doer.
He thought outside the box.
He knew how to be a friend.
He knew how to sweet talk his parents, the lunch lady, and the school nurse.
He always had a Plan A and a Plan B and a Plan C.
Because he was smooth.
He knew how to work the system.
Everyone loves Ferris.
Why does everyone love Ferris Bueller?
Because he is on a universal quest to have fun.
He takes risks: not dangerous ones. But he does the crazy, silly things we wish we might be brave enough to do. That kind of ethos that will always triumph. He’s the friend we all wish we had.
Sure, Ferris is a rich kid who has almost nothing to complain about.
And guess what? He doesn’t.
He helps his friends during their darkest hours.
He shows them love.
And a good time.
He reminds us all to cherish every moment of every day.
And this is why you have to go over to Educlaytion and vote to SAVE FERRIS right now!
The polls are open this moment!
Today Ferris is up against Maria Von Trapp from the Sound of Music.
I’ll admit, Maria is pretty awesome.
And she can sing “doe a deer” like nobody’s business.
But VOTE FERRIS BUELLER!
Oh, I am not above trying to sweeten the pot.
BLOGGERS: If you vote to SAVE FERRIS and leave me a comment, I will tweet your current blog post.
NON-BLOGGERS: I will make a vlog and create some kind of crazy song where I sing the names of everyone who votes for me. That’s right, I will get the names from Clay and create a vlog of gratitude.
I might even be on a float.
“Ism’s in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an -ism, he should believe in himself.” – Ferris Bueller
Look at the brackets. Who do you think is going all the way? IYKWIM.

It’s Ferris all the way!
Ferris rocks! 🙂
Wow, you are bringing the stakes up! Nice defence as the Canadians would say. (seh?)
Is that kosher? As we Jews would say? If I win, can I have names and sing them? Even if it is just first names?
Done. Gotta love Ferris’ live-in-the-moment attitude.
Reblogged this on kateschannel and commented:
Oh Thank you Kate! I shall Tweet you later!
I’ve always been a little disappointed that I couldn’t join Ferris on that float. If they’d gone to a White Sox game (instead of the lame Cubs), it would be the perfect day. Regardless, I voted to save Ferris!
I voted Ferris. How could I not? It was the 1st movie I saw by myself (drive myself because I’d just gotten my license).
Also? Please vote Sam.
Oh, you know I had to vote Ferris, although one small correction: he did whine about getting a computer and not a car. I mean, “How’s that for being born under a bad sign?”
Anyone willing to get up on a float in the middle of a parade and lip sync has my vote… 🙂
DUN! I LOVE FERRIS! DOESN’T EVERYBODY? THE GEEKS, THE DWEEPS…
I just voted. LONG LIVE FERRIS! Maria is going down. She couldn’t hack it as a nun and can’t hack it here!! The hills are alive with the sound of defeat! (Or something like that …. SAVE FERRIS!)
Ferris rules and is one of the seminal teen icons in motion picture history. I still vividly remember seeing him for the first time in the theater. He was wise beyond his years…
However, I think the new commercials Broderick made for the Super Bowl were super lame. The Sounds of Music is a snoozer, IMO.
Just voted in your favor, RASJ!
Ferris sounds like ferret, and ferrets are WAY too cute. (Just another reason… ;))
Save Ferris! Man, I love that movie. I loved Cameron best of all.
Cam IS the best. I think he represents true teenage angst. And it’s awesome that Ferris can be supportive. We all need friends like that, right?
You must save Ferris! I modeled my entire blog after his personality/character/temperament! I will say, Ferris has some tough competition going up against Maria…I watch her movie every chance I get around the holidays =)
Off to vote for Ferris! Seen that movie about 3,000 times…
Whew – got my vote in! But seriously? This shiz should be in the bag.
Oh and NO NEED to tweet my latest post. I’d MUCH rather have you sing my name 😉
Well, is there a post you’d like tweeted? If so, send the URL!
And if I win, there will be singing. And probably dancing. Because I can’t do one without the other.
Clay said I could. 😉
You are awesome. I do love Ferris. I will indeed vote!
